A parish CRM that actually understands the liturgical year.

Context

A parish was running on spreadsheets and disconnected tools because the church-management software market didn’t fit it. The Catholic-native platforms are dated desktop ports; the modern Protestant SaaS is excellent but liturgically illiterate: no Paschal date calculation, no name days, no fasting periods or jurisdictional calendars. Nowhere to safely load real member data.

What we built

We built a domain-native parish platform, not a generic CRM with terminology swapped in. The data model carries patron saints, name days, and sacramental registers; a Paschal calculator (Meeus/Jones/Butcher) drives fixed and moveable feasts and the fasting calendar. On that foundation: parishioner and household management, sacramental records with certificate generation, stewardship and giving with pledges and year-end statements, QR-code attendance, ministries and volunteers, a liturgical events calendar, email/SMS communications, religious education, and confidential pastoral-care records with priest-only access enforced at the route layer. It was built to a real security bar: role-based access across six roles, two-factor auth, AES-256 field-level encryption, audit logging, and 282 passing tests with 97%+ coverage on the security-critical code.

The value

• The parish has, for the first time, a system it can safely load real member data into, one that speaks its own liturgical and sacramental language instead of forcing a Protestant or Catholic mold.
• Pastoral confidentiality is enforced by the system, not left to trust. Priest-only records and field-level encryption are a real reduction in risk around sensitive data.
• It was built to a security bar most small-organization software never reaches: two-factor auth, six-role access control, and 282 passing tests at 97%+ coverage on the security-critical paths.
• Stewardship, attendance, sacramental records, and communications live in one place instead of scattered spreadsheets. The parish office runs on one source of truth.
